American Compliance & HIPAAnswers Present
3rd & 4th Quarter Webinar
Series (2009)
NEW WEBINARS
Breach Notification CE’s and BA’s: Oct 1, Nov 12, Dec 10
There is very little time as the law is in effect September 23, 2009. Learn what you must do to comply as a covered entity and also what your business associates must do. The course will explain what information to include in the notification, requirements for reporting to news media and the Secretary of HHS. HHS has provided guidance as to what constitutes a breach, how to conduct a risk assessment, exceptions to breach, and definitions which will all be reviewed in this course. Included will be guidance on what technologies render PHI as unreadable.
ARRA changes
for CE's: June 11, Aug 13, Oct 22
This course will help
the "covered entity" understand the specific changes and
the impact to you HIPAA Privacy and Security practices. You will
also learn what HHS/OCR/CMS will be doing to improve enforcement
including education, increased fines and more pro-active rather
than re-active enforcement activities. In addition, learn about
the new responsibilities of your Businss Associates and both the
"covered entity" and Business Associates responsibilites
to report security incidents.
ARRA changes
for BA's: June 25, Sept 10, Nov 5
The changes stop short
of making the Business Associate a "covered entity" but
it does force the Business Associate to implement requirements as
if a "covered entity" specifically the administrative,
physical and technical safeguards. The "covered entity"
is required to amend or update the Business Associate agreement,
learn how this impacts you. There are other requirements you will
now be responsible for such as reporting security incidents not
just to the "covered entities" but to CMS as well. Learn
about these changes and those the "covered entity" will
need to make.
